20% of the world is estimated to be neurodivergent

$20 Billion is the socioeconomic cost of ADHD in Australia
36.9% increase in mental health claims since FY2018

Neurodiversity refers to the natural variation in human brains and cognitive functions. It encompasses a wide range of neurological differences, including conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and Tourette's syndrome.
Neurodivergent individuals often face unique psychosocial risks due to their differences in cognitive functioning. These risks can significantly impact their well-being and job performance.
Psychosocial Hazards are the non-physical factors that can affect a worker’s mental and emotional well-being.
Relationship Between Neurodiversity and Psychosocial Hazards
Research indicates a strong correlation between ADHD and increased vulnerability to psychosocial hazards in the workplace. Individuals with ADHD may be more susceptible to stress and anxiety, bullying and harassment, and performance anxiety, among other issues.

About Brainstorm
Despite having been diagnosed for over 18 years, I had very little understanding of ADHD, and just how much it impacts my life.

Through a series of career mis-steps, which may have been avoided had I had a better understanding of ADHD, I developed Brainstorm to share my learnings, and advocate for people like me.

In collaboration with industry professionals, my goal is to support staff and employers navigate neurodiversity and ADHD in the workplace.

I want to empower neurodivergents at work, help businesses support their neurodivergent staff and maximise their potential, and create a more inclusive workplace where neurodivergent employees can thrive.
